The congressional midterms are a critical turning point for both parties. According to a poll on September 20, 2026, 55% of voters have voted Trump's new policies have ruined the economy, mostly driven by the rising gas prices. People blame the war on Iran because of the rising gas prices.
The president's approval rating has gone down his second term in office. His approval rating is as low as 36%. The decline is making it difficult for Republicans to keep their jobs in congress. His approval rating is also making it hard for the Republicans to make any push to win the midterms ; or in congress.
There are many strategies in order to put a party in the best place. The Democrats are winning the congressional ballot. The Democrats are also benefiting because of Trump’s low approval rating. On the other hand, the Republicans have a favorable senate. They also have good funding and financial resources. If the Democrats flip congress, the President might be impeached.
