I believe dogs are better than cats for many different reasons.
For example: dogs don't have a temper, like cats do. When you pet a cat they can sometimes switch up and scratch you. Unlike dogs who are usually very friendly.
Another reason is that after a long day at school cats would usually care less to see you come home, but dogs would most likely miss you and greet you at the door.
With a dog you can walk it and teach it tricks easily, but with cats you will have a harder time teaching them tricks, because they are very lazy. For these reasons I have listed, I believe dogs make a more suitable pet than cats would.
