Why Real Madrid will win the 25/26 LALIGA season

Written by Roberto Pelayo

After a tough season for Real Madrid, fans are seeking a lot of changes. Real Madrid has delivered changes as per to fans’ requests, and in my opinion, they are doing well on this. Some may believe Barcelona or Atletico Madrid might win it, but Real Madrid as of now are the clear winners of this competition.

Horrible performance last season for Madrid

After a tough season with Italian 66-year-old Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid won second in the league with Barcelona topping them by 4 points. This might seem good, but with Real Madrid’s standards, they usually win the league. They suffered tremendous defeats including a 4-0 and 5-2 defeat to Barcelona, a 3-0 defeat versus arsenal, 2 more defeats to Barcelona, a defeat vs Atletico Madrid, and I can think of so many more. Along with not winning against LALIGA, they didn’t win any other significant trophies: Copa Del Rey and the UEFA Champions League. After this season, Carlo Ancelotti decided to leave and now they introduced a new manager who was an amazing former player, Spanish 43-year-old Xabi Alonso.

Current start for the season

Real Madrid is at the top of the LALIGA table right now having 18 points and 6 wins. Their only real problem is Barcelona with 16 points- 5 wins and 1 draw.  Real Madrid have been undefeated this whole season and have been showing improvement in possession and in essential factors such as passes completed and chances created.

My anticipations for Real Madrid

With the current start Real Madrid have right now, I think they will be successful not only in Spain (Copa Del Rey and LALIGA), but also in all of Europe as they also kicked off the UEFA Champions League tournament with a win. I believe that Real Madrid will have European success and all in all, have a great 25/26 season.

New beginnings

Not only was a new manager introduced to this team; but they made some good signings such as Dean Huijsen, Franco Manstantuono, and Trent Alexander Arnold. These players were in spots in which Real Madrid lacked performance. With these new additions, I believe Real Madrid won’t have many flaws in the future.

Change in tactics

Xabi Alonso now makes Real Madrid play a 3-back formation (3 defenders in the backline), which allows more players to be higher in the pitch. He encourages players to apply pressure to steal the ball from players on the other team more than the previous manager Carlo Ancelotti did. Players like Mbappe, who was amazing last year (he won the golden boot- the trophy for most goals in Europe), lacked applying pressure on the opposition under Carlo Ancelotti’s management. Now that he encourages applying pressure on the opposition, this leads to an increase in regaining possession. He also allows for faster, and better play when it comes to development and encouragement of discipline with more efficient, but effective, training.
