With the last Avengers movie in this Marvel franchise being Avengers: Endgame, which was made in 2019, fans are really hoping for a new movie in the franchise. If you are one of these fans, you might be excited for this news: a new movie is coming to the franchise; Avengers: Doomsday.

About Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers: Doomsday’s will be a mix of action, adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, and superhero. The movie is expected to be PG-13 although some fans speculate the movie to be rated R. The Avengers defeating Doctor Doom will be a central conflict in the movie.
Release Date
Filming for the movie started in April 2025 and has recently finished this month, September 2025. It was shot in Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. The anticipated movie, will be released on December 18, 2026.
What to mainly expect
It will mainly focus on the introduction of the villain, Doctor Doom. Doctor Doom will start a crisis across the multiverse by unleashing an unexpected crisis that is a threat to all of existence.
New Heroes
A ton of new characters are being introduced including: Some heroes that are in the Fantastic Four, Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing.
-Mister Fantastic is the leader who has super stretch powers.
-Invisible Woman has force field powers and invisibility
- Johnny Storm who has fire powers and flight powers.
-The Thing who has super strength and a rocky form which is a full transformation into a rocky like figure.
Apart from the Fantastic Four, there are also characters from a X-Men. X-Men are a team of Superheroes with unique powers that work to protect the world, even though the world hates them, and protect teammates in the X-Men group. New characters from X-Men include Professor X who is the leader of X-Men, Cyclops who is a core member, Beast, Nightcrawler, and Gambit which is having his first live action MCU debut.
Anti-Heroes
An Anti-Hero is a protagonist who lacks heroic attributes but is neither good nor bad and usually uses questionable techniques to achieve good. New antiheroes will include:
-Magneto is a master of magnetism, who usually is the antagonist but occasionally forms allies with heroes against major threats
-Gambit who has card-charging powers (powers which cards are used to give abilities
-Mystique who is a shapeshifter, who is usually on Magneto’s side
Villains
After Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, the last movie in the Avengers franchise, Robert Downey Jr. lost the role. If you were a fan of him, this is some good news for you: He is returning as Doctor Doom, the main antagonist of the movie Avengers: Doomsday. Doctor Doom is proficient in science, technology, sorcery, martial arts, and diplomacy.
